Clothing often signifies an outward expression of one’s identity and dignity. It is important to let people dress to whichever they want so long as it is descent and fit in the setting. After all the lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender people are human beings and they are entitled to freedom of choice and freedom of association. Shoutout to the institutions and communities that are embracing equity across the globe. Every person is entitled to their own sexuality and thus they should be accorded the freedom they are entitled to. For instance, the Bangkok parliament that went ahead allowing the Lgbt members of parliament to wear how they want. “Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender politicians can dress as they please but the suits or dresses must be modest,” Sorasak Pienvej, secretary-general of the Lower House, said, referring to parliamentary regulations on clothing.

This was a nice move as they proclaimed it to the public after the allegations of the members of parliament who were Lgbt.
It was also observed in some certain schools in the united states where they embraced all the sexual dimensions. Rincon High School is among the schools that embraces lgbt and their dress code. Los Angeles high school voted for a male student as the prom queen.
My take to this issue is that all the people should be given freedom to choose how they dress themselves. The community at large should not be bias or harsh to these people as earlier observed in some parts of Kenya Nairobi. In Nairobi some gay people were beaten because of how they dressed and this is against human rights. Although gayism and lesbianism is not legalized I Kenya no one should take advantage of that and harass the lgbt people across the society.
With this freedom of choice of dressing it will brings a lot of advantages. The lgbt will not have to hide in fear of being tortured by the masses. It will also help the lgbt to identify the other lgbts in the globe helping them cope up with the challenges that life brings along. Dress code conflicts often reflect a generational divide, with students coming of age in a culture that is more accepting of ambiguity and difference than that of the adults who make the rules. although dress code disputes are largely anecdotal, popping up in the news when a lawsuit threat emerges, educators and psychologists say that more schools will have to address them in the near future.

In every gym, there is always that gym barbie with a gorgeous body, perfect hair, carefully applied make up and all dressed up. This gym barbie rarely sweats, infact the gym’s florescent lighting is always working in her favor, making her glow.

The rest of the gym gurus are all sweaty with their gym wear soggy, looking like melted candles.
I always think to myself, why get dolled up only to labor away at the gym burning calories? Or maybe the gym barbie is out here to impress the hot gym trainers?
Another gym barbie would openly confess, ” you never know who you may run into at the gym; your soulmate maybe!”
Well, quarantine period is here with us and gym barbies have to maintain their summer bodies while at home.
The beauty about working out from home is;
One, it comes with so much comfort. I mean, its your space.
Two, the only person to compare yourself to is, well, you!
Three and the most important part is you’re less likely to catch strange germs or viruses like Corona.
That said, here are some of the gym attire you may need while working out during quarantine.

Gym Gloves
In as much as some people don’t believe in using gym gloves, these gloves have benefits especially when doing weightlifting exercises.
Gym gloves prevent callouses. These are hard formed skin caused by friction. They are painful and uncomfortable.
Gym gloves also help in wrist support. The wrap around strap offer an extended wrist support especially for lifting weights above your capacity.
Knee Sleeves
Knee sleeves are essential because they provide support to your knees while working out.
These knee sleeves are designed and used to protect either a previous knee injury or future knee injury, since knees are put under great pressure daily while running, jumping and even weightlifting.
Sports Shoes
Finding the right sports shoes for working out can be such a headache! Gym instructors recommend that if you wish to find the comfortable shoes to work out in you need to try on shoes in the afternoon or in the evening or even after your work out. During these times, your feet are largest. Also, do not forget to wear socks.

Wearing the right work out shoes helps to prevent foor injuries such as fractures.
Good shoes also cushion the feet from heavy landings.
Finally, World Health Organization recommends 150 minutes of moderate exercises or 75 minutes of vigorous physical exercises per week.

Let’s grab our lightweight t-shirts and gym shorts and burn some calories at the comfort of our homes during quarantine!

Over the years fashion in universities has always stood out for the majority of the students. While trying to balance class, studying, work, and social life, it can be hard to stay up to date with the latest trends. Here we’ll give you some of the ways students in United States International University dress and how to feel confident and look good while still staying busy during the school year. Comfort is Key when thinking about waking up early and heading to class; comfort is the first thing that comes to mind. A common misconception is that you have to sacrifice style for comfort, but this isn’t always the case. Here are a few comfortable items that still allow you to show off your style. These are must-haves for college and they include; a good pair of jeans, black leggings, a purpose T-shirt, converse or a pair of comfortable shoes, a cute simple dress, a pair of sandals, a blouse, a jacket, etc.

Although we would all like to wear t-shirts and leggings every single day, we have to remember to keep things practical. Not every class or event you may be required to attend will allow the laid-back, comfy look. For instance, while having a class presentation one should be smart and look presentable in front of others. Owning a pair of denim jeans is a no-brainer, and it’s a step up from wearing sweatpants and leggings while still being more casual. Jeans are perfect for going to class. Different types of jeans can be perfect for different types of occasions. Wear a pair of distressed jeans for a casual day running errands or hanging out with friends, Wear a pair of dark wash or black jeans paired with a button-up blouse and heels or doll shoes for a business casual look. With the right pair of jeans, you can’t go wrong.
A lot of presentations, interviews, and possibly internships you want to dress to impress in these situations to make a good first impression. This is where business casual wear comes into play in terms of university fashion. You don’t have to own a ton of these items; just a few that you can mix and match. It is essential to have a nice dress, a few blouses, and a good pair of pants. Try palazzo pants, or the classic plaid for a trendy, business casual look.
I talked to one of my colleagues, Samantha who has a love for fashion and style. She expressed “the idea of showing up and being able to express myself through my outfits makes me want to dress up and that encourages me to go to school often”.
Fashion has always been a simple way of expressing how you feel inside on a particular day. Dressing down and keeping it simple on a certain day and being extra on another can be associated with how one feels on different type off days.

Valentines day, the one day of the year where all lovers and hopeless romantics look forward to. This is the day where people dress to impress and come up with creative ideas to sweep their lovers off their feet.
Why do people dress up for Valentines? To create a good first impression maybe? Or is it to feel confident in themselves?

Well, here at U.S.I.U the Valentines committee, Aisha Mussa and Michelle Kimani, took it upon themselves to try and reduce that pressure. They organized an event called Valentine blind speed dating on Thursday 13th February at the Cafeteria Terrace in order to help single people who were scared of not meeting the dressing expectations to have an easy time finding a date.

The event was a complete success as people were confident sharing with their dates. This comes to show you how something as simple as dressing plays a big role in perception. Dressing is a form of nonverbal communication and it easy for people to misunderstand/judge a person according to how they dress which corresponds with their interest towards that person.

They say love is blind, that mean lovers are blind. Not literally of course. This statement means that once you find love you become vulnerable to your partner. This makes you blind to their flaws and concentrate more on the good which the event brought out. It showed us that looking for personality and character is more important than external factors i.e. clothing and looks.
